My A–Z Travel Map (So Far…)

A fun way to track where you’ve been—and where you’re going next

I’m always looking for creative ways to make travel feel more intentional, and more fun. Recently, I started building my own A–Z travel list, and it turned into one of my favorite little projects.

The idea is simple:
Pick a country for every letter of the alphabet based on places you’ve visited.

Some letters are easy. Others? Not so much. (I’m looking at you, Q, X, and Z)

But that’s what makes it exciting. It turns into a mix of reflection and future planning.

Why This Is Such a Fun Travel Idea

What I love about this is it does two things at once:

1. Helps you reflect

You start realizing just how many places you’ve actually been—and how diverse your experiences are.

2. Gives you instant travel goals

Instead of saying “I want to travel more”, now it becomes:

  • “I need a K destination”
  • “What in the world starts with Q?”
  • “Okay… guess I’m going to Zanzibar someday”

It turns travel into a game with purpose, which makes planning way more exciting.

The Gaps = The Adventure

The empty letters are honestly my favorite part right now. They’re basically a built-in bucket list.

If you travel (or want to travel), I highly recommend trying this. It’s simple, but it changes how you think about your experiences.

Start your own A–Z list and see:

  • What you’ve already accomplished
  • Where your gaps are
  • What adventures are waiting next
